Friendswood’s History

Friendswood, was founded in 1895 by members of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers). Today, Friendswood houses the Houston area headquarters for the Quaker Society. Friendswood is a city in the U.S. state of Texas within the Houston–Sugar Land–Baytown metropolitan area. The city lies in Galveston and Harris counties. As of the 2000 U.S. Census, Friendswood population was 29,037.
