I am being audited and the deadline for filing this year's return is fast approaching. Should I file?
-Probably not. Then the auditor may want to examine that return too.

I am being audited and I haven't heard from the auditor for months. What can I do to get the audit over with?
-Don't do a thing. They will have pressure to close the audit.
-They may even give you a waiver of time to extend the statute of limitations on audit.

Do I have to let the IRS into my home?
-No. No one without an order from a judge or certain law enforcement may enter you home without your express permission.
The auditor is impossible to get along with. What can I do?
-After trying your best, request a discussion with the manager for reassignment. Seek professional advice first.
-The Treasury Inspector General's Office is set up to regulate the behavior of IRS employees. You may want to contact them.
Can the IRS take my house?
-Yes. Anything you own really for non payment of taxes.
-The IRS must obtain a court order first when it's your residence. It's easier for them to take other assets.
Can I make a deal with the IRS to pay less than my tax bill?
-You can file an Offer in Compromise.
Can I challenge the IRS if I get audited and don't agree with the result?
-Yes, you can appeal the audit report within 30 days. You have 90 days to send in a tax court petition.
How likely am I to get charged with criminal tax fraud?
-Not very likely.Only a very small percentage of people get investigated for tax fraud.
