The success of any firm specializing in representing taxpayers before the IRS lies in their ability to manage people successfully. Nothing takes the place of the right combination of knowledge, experience and education. I urge you to take the time to carefully select the right representative for the job. We feel that we have what it takes to favorably solve most any IRS matter, however difficult it may be.

Joe Mastriano, CPA

         Joe started the CPA firm in the early 1980's. Since then, he has represented thousands of taxpayers. After the first few years specializing in taxpayer representation the firm became a referral source for other CPA's and attorneys. They gave him their more difficult cases to solve. Today that still happens. He is sought out by people who have hired large companies who made wild promises of results. You are urged to "look past the claims of results being promised". Statements such as " We have over 50 years combined experience" " we work the fastest or your money back" "we can definitely get you an offer for X amount of dollars'' need to be examined closely. Who is the licensed professional making the statement? Does it make sense? Is it even ethical?
Joe stands for "Ethical, Professional, Experienced, Results". Do not settle for less!

Sherry Others

        Sherry's background is in bookkeeping, management, and customer service. She started with the firm in January of 2002. After almost eight years, she has a greater understanding for IRS representation than many CPA's and Attorneys that I know. She has an amazing ability to help clients get over their fear and other stopping points. Whether it's the lack of information for a tax return, lack of understanding for what the IRS can do, the importance of deadlines from IRS employees, fear of showing the IRS your financial information, Sherry will get you through it. This is why many firms fail at helping their clients. If a customer fails to return phone calls and emails, they are left hanging. Then the IRS takes collection action by levying their bank account or paycheck. Then there is a fight between the representation firm and the customer about who's at fault. Sherry will call and email several times and not abandon a customer. Every effort is made to work through any stopping point to resolve an IRS issue that comes up. Her dedication to case management and client satisfaction is the backbone of this company. Her patience and perseverance has gotten many difficult cases to a favorable conclusion for our clients.

Marie Moore

        Marie is our resident tax manager. She is a young prodigy who is currently attending graduate school and studying to be a CPA. After just a couple of tax seasons, Marie became the tax manager and course instructor for the Liberty Tax office she used to work for. She handled resolution of IRS notices and letters that were sent to her clients. Wanting to continue doing income tax and IRS resolution work, she sought out our firm as her CPA firm of choice for professional development. We hope we live up to her standards. Marie currently prepares most of the tax returns for our firm, and assists Sherry with collection and audit case management. Her knowledge, experience, and professionalism is greatly welcomed.

Blake Allred

        Blake used to clerk at Chamberlain, Hrdlicka, White, Williams & Martin, one of the more prestigious law firms in Houston, where he prepared pleadings, interrogatories, and summarized depositions. After that, he worked for Alliantgroup, L.P. handling cases for this "Tax Controversy Services" law firm. That experience was a good fit for working at our firm. Mr. Allred is a graduate of South Texas College of Law, and is a licensed Texas attorney. He is now our resident attorney, who works his own IRS client cases. He handles payment plans, offers in compromise, appeals, audits, etc. We all  look forward to the benefits his experience, knowledge, and education brings to our firm.

Angelica "Pogge" Poggemoellar

        After successfully managing the front desk position, and transferring it over,  Angelica is now in charge of setting appointments for potential customers of our firm and associate CPAs. She does not come from a sales background, so no one ever feels pressured by her. After seeing how we have helped so many people to overcome their IRS problems, "Pogge" has become very enthusiastic about the kind of work we do, and was anxious to move into this position. If you feel uncomfortable about calling a CPA firm to either represent you, or just for consultation, "Pogge" invites you to call her, and promises that she will make it a pleasant experience.

Our Associate CPA's

Alan Maddox, CPA

        Alan has spent more time than any of us educating himself in accounting techniques. He has done a lot of financial statement work in accounts receivable, inventory, etc. and has excelled in his financial presentation work. Over the years he has prepared personal and corporate returns. He has even worked for the IRS as an auditor. Alan is developing his own practice assisting taxpayers who are being audited by the IRS as well as other issues such as a payment plan, offer in compromise, company restructuring to save taxes, and appeals. Alan's vast years of experience is a welcomed addition to our office. We sometimes ask him what level of proof his old audit manager at the IRS would accept as adequate backup to support a tax deduction. What happens in an actual audit can be different than what you read in a book.
