Letter 11 (LT11): Killer Final Notice Of Intent To Levy

We welcome the opportunity to represent taxpayers from [geoloctag].

IRS Letter 11 Intent To LevyLetter 11 (Final Notice of Intent to Levy) is basically a letter that will be sent to you by the IRS if you do not fully pay the taxes for the periods in the letter. In this notice, the IRS will inform you that they intend to issue a levy on your assets. This notice is issued because there is still an unpaid balance. If the IRS has not filed a Federal Tax Lien yet, then the Letter 11 or LT11 may also inform you that they intend to file the Lien.

The letter requests that you make the payment for the amount that is due. Along with the Letter 11, you will also find one envelop where you can enclose your check for the unpaid balance. You will have thirty days time from the date the Letter 11 was printed. After that, the IRS can and probably will levy your assets, if the matter is still unresolved.

The IRS will send out levies against your bank accounts, and other financial institutions before going after tangible assets.

You can find out more information about your appeal rights, and what to do before the 30 days are up. If you feel comfortable representing yourself, please feel free to use the information under the “free advice” tab on this site. It’s pretty comprehensive, and is a result of my over 20 years experience representing people before the IRS.
