Child And Dependent Care Credit Killer Explanation and Advice

You are eligible for a childcare credit, if, while working you have to pay care expenses for your child or your dependents.

Childcare Expenses

In order to qualify for this credit you must show evidence of care expenses incurred to allow you to have a full time or part time job.

Qualifications For Child And Dependent Care Credit

You may be eligible for this credit if your spouse (this rule applies to only one spouse) was a student for 5 months, or if she is physically or mentally unable to function without aid or supervision.

In addition, you and your spouse (if married) must pay more than half of the cost of maintaining a home in which you and qualifying person live. You and your spouse must live together, if you are married.

Who Is Considered A Qualifying Person For Child And Dependent Care Credit?

- Your dependent child under age of 13, when the care is provided.

- A person that you have claimed as dependent, who is physically and mentally unable to take care of himself.

- Your spouse can qualify as a dependent if she is unable to take care of herself.
