Tax Breaks Electric Vehicle Eligibility And Qualifications
This credit applies to only two types of plug-in vehicles: a low speed electric vehicle, with an electric motor using battery with a capacity of 4 hours or more, or a two or three-wheeled vehicle with an electric motor using a battery with a capacity of 2,5 kilowatt hours.
The credit provided for eligible taxpayers is equal to 10% of the cost of vehicle. The maximum amount of credit allowed is $2,500.
Qualifications For Electric Vehicle Drivers
The taxpayer who claims an electric vehicle credit must be the first user of the car. The vehicle must not be acquired for resale.
You can qualify for only one credit related to the energy saving vehicles.
