IRS Crooks – How To Spot Them And How To Select A Professional Firm When You Need Help! Reading about all the scam and fraud complaints on the Internet would lead you to believe that they all lie just to get your money. If all that is true, then why do they still exist? Why hasn’t the government shut them down? Here’s a great example. Let’s say I put my suit on, stand tall over my employees and make commercials telling you I’m the largest IRS help firm in the world. I then find 5 people who actually like me, out of the 1,000′s of people I ripped off, and use them as testimonials. Sprinkle in some video tricks and voila, you now think I’m the greatest thing since sliced bread. I don’t tell you that I lost my license, or that there are class action lawsuits against me. I just keep smiling and tell you how large my company is. Get the picture? When you ask “Why do you have complaints every month from people who say you lied to them and stole their money?” I respond “Well we represent a million people and you can’t please everyone, so of course there’s a list of complaints.” And you know what? You, the scared taxpayer, actually believed it! Against your own better judgment, you believe it. These companies don’t exist because the government won’t shut them down. It’s because you, the scared taxpayers, support them. Why? Because you are greedy! Keep Throwing You Money Away On Tax Resolution Companies Here’s an example of the type of thinking. Every year 1,000′s of people throw their money away, buying the next magical trading formula to beat the stock market. It doesn’t take a lot of thought to conclude that if one existed, ...Continue Reading
The IRS Collection Division is that part of the Internal Revenue Service whose mission is to secure delinquent tax returns and collect delinquent taxes from corporations, businesses, trusts, individuals and other entities that owe tax money to the IRS. It is the job of the revenue officers in the IRS Collection Division to ensure that the outstanding tax balances are collected from the taxpayers. Branches of the IRS Collection Division: The Field Collection Function. The Automated Collection Site. The Service Center Collection Function. When the Internal Revenue Service makes an assessment against your tax account, your case will then immediately be sent to the Collection Division of IRS. It is the responsibility of the IRS Collection Division to ensure that the tax due to the Service is collected in the least expensive way as possible. To ensure that this task is carried out efficient and quickly, the IRS people makes use of computers. In the collection process, you will encounter two types of collection groups: Automated Collection Division: These employees of the IRS get in touch with taxpayers through telephone and letters to inform them that they owe money to the IRS and how to pay it. Local Revenue Officers: When automated collection has failed to obtain the outstanding taxes, or the tax is very large, or at the request of the taxpayer for efficient administration, the IRS will send the case to a revenue officer for the purpose of collecting the balance that is due. Many people think that the collection division of IRS will help them resolve their taxes, and they sometimes do. The IRS will often press hard for you to pay in the shortest period of time because it is the objective of this division to ensure that the outstanding tax money is collected from the taxpayers. The people working in the IRS Collection ...Continue Reading
Tax Attorney – You May Not Need One For Your IRS Needs…Find Out From Joe Mastriano, CPA! Do You Really Need An Tax Attorney / Lawyer? Many people with IRS problems search for an attorney or lawyer specializing in delinquent taxes, offer in compromise, payroll liabilities, etc. I have come across websites where attorneys tell your that they are the best person to represent you. Why? They claim your conversations are confidential and they won’t disclose incriminating evidence. They also claim that not filing your unfiled returns are criminal and you can go to jail. I have represented thousands of taxpayers, and I will tell you that these issues never come up. The IRS wants you to file your old prior returns and make provisions for paying the delinquent taxes. The burden of proving you willfully choose not to file is upon the IRS. When Should I Hire An Attorney or IRS Lawyer? If you actually committed a criminal act like submitting false documents to the IRS or giving false testimony, then you may need a criminal lawyer. That person should be very experienced in criminal law and procedure. They also tend to charge higher legal fees. If I was a tax attorney, I know I would, which brings me to the next question. Why Hire An Attorney / Lawyer Who Prepares Low Dollar Tax Returns and Does IRS Collection Work? This is work that CPA’s and Enrolled Agents do. They didn’t spend three years in law school, to become a tax lawyer. Frankly, I don’t know why you would want to hire a low priced lawyer. I know a couple of really good tax attorneys and IRS lawyers who won’t touch past due returns and IRS collection work for under $350 per hour. I would question the knowledge and ...Continue Reading

LeBron IRS Income Tax Brought To Light By Joe Mastriano, CPA…The Killer IRS CPA With Over 30 Years Of Experience! LeBron James IRS income tax decision raised questions among his fans across the country. Why did he pick the Miami Heat? Are any economical aspects involved in basketball player choice? Florida – One Of The No Personal Income Tax States Speculations have spread all over the media that he did his homework before he chose to sign a contract with the Miami Heat. He made his tax calculations and he figured out that over the years he will benefit from good tax treatment in Florida. According to a CNBC report, LeBron James will make $1,014 million more in Miami over the first five years than in his home state of Ohio. Did LeBron James Choose The Miami Heat Over The New York Knicks For Tax Reasons? New York high income taxes might be the reason for LeBron’s decision. If he had chosen New York Knicks, he would be liable for more income taxes. It is well known that many New Yorkers are overwhelmed with the amount of income taxes they pay. That is why some of the high-income individuals are planning their taxes in financially sunnier states like: Florida, Texas, Nevada and few others. New York Post estimated LeBron’s tax bill: “On a five-year contract worth $96 million — what he’d get from the Knicks or the Heat — LeBron would pay $12.34 million in New York taxes. Quite a penalty for the privilege of working in Midtown.” Would LeBron James Pay No Income Taxes? According to a New York Times article, James LeBron would have to pay income taxes for games he plays across the country, even if he does not have to pay income taxes in Florida, a ...Continue Reading
Back Taxes New York – We Can Help Resolve Your Back Taxes! Many people in New York owe back taxes to the IRS. This can come from an honest error of forgetting to email your returns, or the IRS not posting a return correctly. Of course it may just exist because you didn’t have the money to pay so you never filed or paid the taxes. As a former New Yorker I speak your language. Why does it cost so much? I grew up in Brooklyn, New York. At age 19 I did tax returns for H&R Block. I also did tax returns later on for a CPA firm in Buffalo and in NYC; I prepared federal and city taxes. Three governments taxed one paycheck! Today as an IRS tax problem specialist, my clients tend to owe the IRS for prior years. If you don’t file you get charged penalties for late filing and late paying. You also get charged interest. Together it adds up fast. Not to mention the IRS collection action they may take, without talking to you first. What to do if you owe back taxes? It’s better to file and pay back as soon as possible, however it may cause a financial hardship. You may also overpay. For additional advice on back taxes see BACK TAXES. Because you never know what kind of trap you are walking into. Let’s consider some facts. If you’ve filed all your previous returns and don’t owe any money, and you can full pay any balance shown on this return, then you can file it now without a problem. If there are other years not filed and you owe on any of them, or you owe on past years, you should find out your current status with the IRS collection division before filing. Your power of attorney representative should pull your record of account for the last 10 years or more. The record of account will show the charges and payments to each year. It will also show if you filed or the IRS filed a return for you. Any years that show that you didn’t file a return, needs to be filed. Unfiled Tax Returns And Payment Plan But… WAIT… Not Yet. If you are in an installment agreement for any taxes you owe to the IRS, having unfiled returns makes that agreement invalid! Be prepared to discuss your ability to make monthly payments toward all years combined. The trick is to get all delinquent liability years included under one agreement. This will stop future collection action, assuming you file and pay your taxes, and make your monthly payment on time. Calling the IRS will also determine if they are in the process of preparing a return for you. If so, they will have a special address for you to send the return to. This will prevent you from having to undo it later. Or worse, the rejection of your newly filed return. So be prepared to discuss your current financial situation. Preparing Unfiled Tax Returns You should have a current IRS form 433a filled out already. Pulling the record ...Continue Reading
Prevent Audit Help From Joe Mastriano, CPA…The Killer IRS CPA With Over 30 Years Of Experience! Each year the Internal Revenue Service audits our tax returns. Some people say that you have a 1 in 180 chance of being audited; the odds go up to 1 in over 100 if you make more than $100,000 per year. The best way put the odds in your favor is to do the following… ” FILE YOUR RETURN AT THE END TO THE LATEST DUE DATE.” -Currently the first extension to file brings you to around October 15th of the year. People in disaster areas may have longer. By filing at the latest date possible, you miss the pool of people that the IRS selects most of their audits from. One way the selects returns for audit is by the DIF or discriminant income function test. Your return is assigned points based on items that don’t seem right. When the score is too high, the IRS flags returns for possible audit. The following are items you can do to “window dress” your return so that you don’t stand out for an audit. 1- YOUR INCOME IS TOO SMALL OR LARGE Is your income much smaller or larger than the previous year? Is it too high or low for the neighborhood you live in. This should be explained on a separate statement so they no that you are aware that it is irregular and you are letting them know why. So anything your income looks too low to support the lifestyle that can be assumed from the rest of your return or neighborhood, you should explain it as part of your return. 2- YOU EMPLOY FAMILY MEMBERS Hiring family members isn’t illegal. But employing more than your immediate family could raise the red flag ...Continue Reading
Michael Jackson Income Taxes Brought To Light By The Killer IRS CPA! After searching Google several times, nothing came up as far as him owing any back income taxes. I did find the following for 2008. “According to records in Santa Barbara County, Jackson finally satisfied a state tax lien on his all-but-abandoned Neverland Valley Ranch in Los Olivos, Calif. The total, according to the assessor’s office, came to just over $600,000, including penalties and fees.” Michael Jackson’s Estate Taxes Settling the estate can be a different matter. Many claim that he may have liabilities that exceed the value of his assets. But maybe not. Some say that the estate tax value of Mr. Jackson’s rights of publicity very easily could exceed his estate’s liquid assets available to pay taxes. Many wonder if he had a will. It will all work out. Always does. But before I forget… R.I.P. Michael. As much as us “rockers” put down pop music, you always came up with a song we didn’t mind singing. You will always be remembered for your extraordinary talents. You even got M.C. Hammer to moonwalk! A high pitched “Hee Hee” to ya. When we hear more about the Michael Jackson Income Taxes, we will post it here!
Arianna Huffington Tax Problems Brought To Light By The Killer IRS CPA! I have researched the internet on tax problems on Arianna Huffington. According to the Los Angeles Times in 2003, the TV commentator and author, who launched her campaign for governor of California with criticism of “fat cats” who fail to shoulder a fair share of taxes, paid no individual state income tax and just $771 in federal taxes during those few years. The argument to the public was, “How does a woman of her wealth, living in a 8,000-square-foot home in Brentwood above Sunset Boulevard valued at $7 million, pay no individual state income tax and just a smear $771 in federal taxes?” According to NewsMine.org in 2003, Huffington’s returns showed that at least for the past 2 years, her income was far outweighed by losses. The losses she reported were incurred by Christabell Inc., the private corporation she owns and uses to manage her writing and lecturing business. I have found that Arianna Huffington was very public with her tax matters. Her own words to the media saying, “There isn’t any loophole here. There isn’t any dodging here. This is basically putting your income against your expenses.” Arianna Huffington is definitely a good example of someone who has paid their income taxes. Good job Arianna Huffington, keep up the good work as a responsible tax payer! Not everyone files and pays their taxes correctly. If you need IRS help it’s best to consult a professional CPA. Joe Mastriano, CPA can help you with all of your IRS and tax problems. Arianna Huffington Tax Problems Won’t Be The Last Celebrity Tax Problem Your Hear About!
Calling The IRS Fearlessly – Joe Mastriano, CPA Talks You Through The Steps! This release is for a newly published article on how to call the IRS fearlessly to resolve an issue. How to Talk to, Or Speak with the IRS Joe Mastriano, CPA is proud to announce that the following article has been published… How To Call The IRS Without Fear – 4 Tips Do you want ammunition to have the confidence to call the IRS without the fear of them taking collection actions against you? Many people get letters each day from the Internal Revenue Service requesting unfiled returns, unpaid taxes, or additional information. You may also want to contact them to resolve an issue you are concerned about. Blindly complying with the person you speak to can be very costly. Why be a victim? Let’s remove most of the risk and fear associated with talking to the IRS right now, by understanding the following.. 1. You must have a good general disposition. Never complain to an IRS employee. They do not want to hear how sick you are, how poor you are, how bad the government is, how your ex-partner or ex-spouse ripped you off, how good you were to pay most of the original portion of the taxes, or the recent flood in your house. When you call the IRS, stick with ‘just the facts’. Think about why you are calling, write it down, and be prepared for their questions. 2. Attempt to maintain a good rapport. Make the IRS person feel good and happy to be working with you, no matter how they respond. You must have unlimited patience at all times. What if you were asked to recite your full address, and then two minutes later you were asked ‘what is your complete address?’. ...Continue Reading
